• THE BACK BAY FENS OF BOSTON

    URBAN PERFORMANCE

  • Our final project for Harvard's Career Discovery program was a conceptual redesign of Boston's Back Bay Fens, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in the late 1800s. My proposal is to revitalize the area using circulation in conjunction with vegetation as a destination for residents and visitors. The new path successfully connects existing and new programming, engages visitors in a dialogue with the river (currently overgrown with vegetation) and uses vegetation as a positive seasonal experience of color and texture.
